Attacking players Spurs should be looking to sign before deadline day

Following Pedro Neto’s move to Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur is intensifying its search for attacking reinforcements. Currently, Tottenham is focusing on several key targets to bolster its attack. Here’s a detailed look at the options being considered: Eberechi Eze, Federico Chiesa, Johan Bakayoko, and Rafinha.

Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace is at the top of Tottenham’s list. At 26 years old, Eze had a standout season in 2023-2024, with 11 goals and 6 assists in the Premier League. Overall, he has scored 26 goals and provided 17 assists in 124 appearances across all competitions with Crystal Palace. His versatility is a major asset; he can play as an attacking midfielder, left winger, or central midfielder. His value is estimated at €55 million, and he earns £118,000 per week. Although expensive, Eze could significantly strengthen Tottenham’s attack with his ability to create chances and score goals.

Federico Chiesa is also a key target for Tottenham. The 26-year-old Juventus player had a mixed season. Although he scored 10 goals and provided 2 assists, he is no longer part of Juventus’ future plans. In 130 appearances with Juventus, Chiesa has scored 32 goals and provided 20 assists. Capable of playing as a left or right winger and also as a second striker, Chiesa offers great attacking flexibility. His value is estimated at €35 million, but Juventus might be willing to accept an offer between €20 and €25 million for his departure. His potential performance and experience make him an interesting option for Tottenham. Chiesa earns €5 million annually, which translates to approximately €96,000 per week. His agent was in London last week and headed talk with some clubs like Tottenham.

Rafinha, from FC Barcelona, is also an option for Tottenham. At 27, Rafinha was involved in 21 goals last season, with 10 goals and 11 assists. In 86 appearances with the Blaugrana, he has scored 20 goals and provided 23 assists. Although he wants to stay in Barcelona, his profile is attractive to Tottenham. Rafinha is versatile and can play on either wing, with a value of €50 million and an annual salary of €12 million, translating to approximately €230,000 per week. A suitable offer might convince both the player and the club to reconsider his situation.

Johan Bakayoko of PSV Eindhoven is another serious target. At 21, Bakayoko scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists last season, bringing his total to 40 goals and 28 assists in 131 appearances with PSV. In a recent interview, Bakayoko clearly expressed his desire to play at the highest level: “I’m not aiming for a mid-table Premier League team. To summarize very briefly: I want to become a champion, play in the Champions League, and be part of a top team.” His statement highlights his ambitions and desire to join a top club. With an estimated value of €45 million, Bakayoko is a young talent whose potential is undeniable.

Desiré Doué was another potential target for Tottenham. However, Doué has now given his green light to a move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), making him no longer a feasible option for the Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur has several options to strengthen its attack. Eberechi Eze, Federico Chiesa, Johan Bakayoko, and Rafinha offer varied profiles and distinct qualities that could greatly benefit the Spurs. Negotiations will be crucial in determining who will bring a fresh impetus to the team for the upcoming season.
