AC Milan prepare bid for Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

AC Milan are preparing a bid to send to Tottenham Hotspur for Danish midfielder, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg. The 28 year-old joined Spurs in the summer of 2020, under Jose Mourinho for £15m from Southampton, with his contract expiring in 2025. Under Ange Postecoglou, the Denmark international has found it difficult to get game time with the Aussie manager starting other players, such as Pape Sarr, Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur getting more game time in a new system and style of play.

New AC Milan manager, Paulo Fonseca has asked for a physical player with a strong defensive awareness and the Danish star fits the profile. Milan consider Højbjerg an economical option for the summer as he has a low price tag compared to others — around €20M, reports CORSport. The Italian news company has also said that they are ‘confident’ of completing this deal and they are expected to send an offer very soon.

It has also been widely reported that Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for a number of players in the squad this summer, including the names of Bryan Gil, Giovanni Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence, Ryan Sessegnon, Joe Rodon, Oliver Skipp.

With the EURO’s fully underway, and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg playing for his national team, Denmark he has started the tournament well for his country. The draw with England on Thursday evening was a great individual performance from the midfielder. After the game, his name was brought up on social media in a positive light after his display, completing the most passes, the most tackles and winning the most duels of any player involved in the 1-1 draw.
