According to reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Ivan Perišić is set to return to Croatia and join 6-time Hrvatska Liga champions Hadjuk Split. His contract at Tottenham will be terminated for the deal to go through…
It hasn’t really worked out for the Croatian since joining on a free transfer last summer. Signed by Antonio Conte, he suited the system perfectly and hit the ground running in the first half of the season, but he was soon found out and struggled in the latter half.

A contribution of 1 goal and 12 assists in all competitions, the versatile left-sided player certainly left his mark in N17, however it goes without saying that he definitely had more to offer.
Personal opinion:
It’s a shame that things haven’t worked out. Last summer it looked like a great piece of business to swoop and bring him in, and I still think we got our moneys worth as he contributed plenty in the attacking phase.
I personally think we should be keeping him. Coming away from the fact that he’s on a big contract, he’s a great squad option to have as he can cover left back if needed, left wing and even striker – he could definitely make an impact off the bench when we’re chasing a goal as well due to his threat on set prices.
Good luck in your next chapter, Ivan!
