Exclusive: Tottenham feel confident about securing a deal for Micky van de Ven.

This afternoon, Tottenham Hotspur have submitted verbal opening proposal for Dutch defender, Micky van de Ven. With negotiations ongoing now with Wolfsburg. No problems regarding personal terms, with both parties close on contract details.

With the club trying to secure a deal worth around £30m, I’m told that Tottenham feel very confident about securing a deal for the young, Dutch centre-back.

However, I’m also told that Spurs are not planning for moving for both Tapsoba and van de Ven, as of now. They will strongly look at Clément Lenglet for around €5m, and possibly one more centre-back but not as expensive as Tapsoba.

In my opinion: The club should be going for both Tapsoba & van de Ven. They are both quality centre-backs, who can bring a lot of qualities to our defence. With our backline conceding 63 goals last season, surely we should be looking at more than one transfer to sort it out?
