How Spurs could potentially lineup versus Brentford on opening day!

Ange Postecoglou was confirmed as Spurs’ new manager almost a month ago, signing a four-year contract to become Antonio Conte’s permanent successor after impressing at Celtic.

His challenge is now to bring that attacking style of play to Tottenham, where fans have had to endure some fairly turgid football under Conte and even during Jose Mourinho’s reign in the recent past.

In a recent interview with SpursPLAY, he said: “I like to win, that’s the main thing, and I’ve done that wherever I’ve been, ” he told the club’s official website. The football is designed to bring success. Alongside that it’s really important to me that there is an element of what I think most fans and players want to be associated with, and that’s football that’s exciting, that people talk about, not just the end result but also the manner in which you played your football.”

“That’s really important to me, a, because I think it’s a way to be successful and also secondly, because it allows people to grab onto those things that are most special about our game, those memorable moments. People want to see their team scoring goals, being exciting, not conceding goals, being aggressive in their approach, all these kinds of things that everyone seeks in their own football team. That’s what I want to try to provide. The basis of it will be that we want to be a team that wins things and, ultimately, entertains our fans.”

“I’m very excited about the challenge ahead – an enormous football club, exciting league, I guess all the things you strive for in your professional career. It’s great to be here and getting ready to work.”

Bissouma, Devine, Royal and Porro in action during pre-season training, day 2.

With the signings of Vicario & Maddison already confirmed by the club, the squad still needs more incomings to strengthen the side, ready for Brentford (A). Here is how I predict Ange’s side will look like on opening day of the Premier League 23/23 season:

Vicario, Van de ven, Tapsoba, Romero, Porro, Bissouma, Ndombele, Maddison, Son, Kane, Kulusevski. (4-3-3).

My reason for my chosen defence: With Spurs in talks for Tapsoba from Bayern Leverkusen as we speak, I strongly believe we will get the deal over the line for around €40m. I also think we will manage to sign Micky van de ven from Wolfsburg for around £26m. Finally, Romero & Porro will stay in the team with Porro officially becoming a Spurs player today.

Reasoning for midfield: With Yves Bissouma having a lot of backing and expectation from the fans to show his worth this season, I think he will fit in perfectly to Ange’s system! With the injury of Bentancur, Ndombele may be chosen as his short term successor after returning from Naples. Lastly, new signing, James Maddison will be sitting in that CAM role. He will be a great addition to our side and will be creating many chances for our three attackers.

Reasoning for attackers: Son Heung-Min, Dejan Kulusevski will be playing on the wings, as expected. Personally, I think Kulu will thrive vividly under Ange and so will Sonny. Richarlison will be on the bench but hopefully he can come on and show his worth. Finally, Harry Kane up top. He isn’t leaving.
